ABOUT
We are a diverse team of health and psychology practitioners located at this calm and welcoming clinic in the coastal town of Sawtell. We pay respects to the traditional custodians of the land, the Gumbaygirr People, and recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded.

We offer a wide range of services including individual psychotherapy with a team of psychologists, social workers and counsellors, a diverse range of therapeutic approaches. Flow is also home to practitioners providing physical therapies including physiotherapy and remedial massage. We believe that everyone holds the key to their own healing potential and that the role of the clinician is to guide and support this unique journey of recovery.

Moving towards a meaningful, connected life is within everyone's reach, where we can treat ourselves, others and the land with nurturance and kindness.
Alex Halsted
Psychologist
I am originally from London and have been living in this beautiful part of the world for 16 years now. My therapeutic approach, as a psychologist, has a foundation of mindfulness and self-compassion, helping to develop more awareness towards all the different aspects that make us who we are and becoming more present to each moment around us while learning to treat ourselves in a kind, loving and nurturing way.
My practise has become increasingly focused on trauma work over the years, which includes the somatically-based 'Internal Tracking' psychotherapy, Inner Child Work, Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), 'Parts' work and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I also have particular interest in Eco-Psychology and believe we cannot seperate the healing of ourselves with connection and healing of the land. I also have a passion for supporting people on their unique spiritual path and discovering more meaning and purpose in their lives.

I am a psychologist working with people in their early adulthood through to later life. My aim is to help people find a way through issues that may be holding them back and to move towards a rich and full life. I subscribe to a wholistic approach to mental health, considering childhood and family issues, past traumas, health issues, balancing a healthy lifestyle with other priorities, values and beliefs, as well as managing school, work, and relationships.
I use evidence-based therapies tailored to the individual, including CBT, ACT, EMDR, mindfulness-based therapies (especially Compassion Focussed Therapy), Interpersonal Psychotherapy and trauma-informed counselling, paying careful attention to the impact of thoughts and memories on physical feelings and somatic sensations.

Joan Low Neville
Trauma Counsellor

I started working in Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Specialist Services in Australia as a Trauma Counsellor before moving into private practice specializing in trauma therapy. I am passionate about trauma healing, recovery and growth especially with women who have experienced DFV, sexual assault and complex childhood trauma.
I mainly work with clients using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a therapeutic approach but also weave in a number of other therapeutic modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Clinical Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT/tapping). I am deeply passionate about building authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationships with my clients and derive inspiration from the clients I work with, who never cease to amaze me with their tenacity, courage and sense of humor even in the most difficult of times. I strive to work with trauma survivors in a way that is respectful and safe and supports your nervous system to feel grounded.
